Beckett: 18 months

This little man turned 18 months old! Beckett is a smart little cookie. His vocabulary is huge; too many words to count. He loves to wear shoes all the time; over footie pajamas if needs be. He also loves to brush his teeth and will walk into the bathroom at all hours of the day and say, "Teeth, teeth" over and over again. He LOVES his little Aiden and Anais blankets. They go a lot of places with us and are called his "bebe". Beck loves to walk everywhere and be independent and do whatever the rest of the kids are doing. One of our favorite things about his walking is that he leads with his belly. He's not a big kid, but Beckett has a big, round, frog belly and wherever it goes, he goes. It's humorous to watch. He recently started sitting at the table with us in a booster and will not tolerate sitting in his high chair anymore. His biggest obsession is balls. He will beg for one in every store if he sees one. He carries them around the house. And one of his favorite things is when we move the over the door basketball hoop down onto his crib so he can play basketball like his brother. He can throw better than probably any of my girls already too! He is super cheesy and flirtatious and just a really big goober with his big eyes on his big head with his big teeth. And he is adorable. And we love him to death.

 Beckett keeps us on our toes. I have never had such an outspoken, inconsolable one and a half year old. There are times when he just yells and screams and there is nothing that can be done to stop him. It can be embarrassing and frustrating at times. As a result, he has secured his position as baby of our family. We recently consulted his doctor on his terrible eczema and a recent break out in horrible hives. He was prescribed a topical cream for his eczema and told no more dairy. "And no more happiness!" No milk, cheese, or yogurt. They think he might be allergic to the protein in dairy. So, after a couple weeks off dairy we can start adding it back in slowly and see how he responds. I'm really hoping it's not that, or that he outgrows it if it is. We finally found a vanilla soy milk that he likes and his eczema has all but vanished. His skin is the smoothest and happiest it's been.... ever.

With hitting the 18 month mark was Beckett's entrance into nursery! Hallelujah!! He loves it and it makes for a much easier block of church meetings. Especially for Jefferson since he was the one who had to take him the last two hours of church. He's in there with Bentley and they seem to look out for each other.
