Beckett Turns One!

My baby-baby is ONE!!!! Oh Beckett Boy, how did this happen?! STOP! This little man is just my favorite (one of four other ones). He is such a happy, handsome, owl-eyed little thing, and I just adore him. I don't know if it's because I'm not pregnant (like I usually am by this time around) or thinking about future babies, but I am just enjoying this little guy so much, and am loving him being my baby. I can see why babies of families are babied. :)
We celebrated Beckett's birthday a couple days after his birthday on a nice, quiet Sunday afternoon with my parents and Nic, Alli, and Rev. It was so low key, but perfect. Beckett enjoyed plenty of presents and cake and ice cream, followed by a bath.

It was a slow start with his cake, and first Beckett was all about the texture. He would put his hand in a glob of frosting and then just squeeze it through his fingers. Then he tried some and decided he liked it. And then he would grab and eat chunks from all different sections of the cake. After he got his belly full he was just laughing and slapping the cake, flinging frosting everywhere in the meantime. It was all over him and the floor. He loved it!
And post bath...

Beckett at 1 loves:
-Taking baths
-His Aiden and Anais blanket
-Sucking his first two fingers
-ALL food!!! All baby and all table food. All fruits and all vegetables. He. Loves. Food.
-Taking his own bottle
-Watching Dad throw a ball. He laughs every time Jefferson throws a ball up in the air and catches it. Every time.
-Mommy
-Clicking his tongue
-Popping his jaw
-Crawling up and down the stairs
-Playing with his siblings
-Standing up to everything
-When I sing to him

He does not love:
-Getting in his carseat
-Drinking out of a sippy cup
-Getting his diaper changed
-Getting dressed
-Reading books. He'll just grab them out of my hand and throw them, or close the book as soon as I try to open it.

The nicknames of Beckett:
Beckett, Beck, Beckett Boy, B-Boy, Little Buddy Diapers, Buddy Diapers, Buddy D, Shlubadoo, Shlala baby, Shlubby, Little Buddy, Man Cub, Cubby, Man Child, Little Man, Baby.

Happy Birthday baby boy. We could not be more thrilled that you are the baby of our family. You are practically perfect in every way.

Tulelake Fair

We made our annual trip to the Tulelake Fair. Last year my parents took my kids because it was just a few days after I had Beckett, and this year Jefferson wasn't able to accompany us because he had a football game (he's the trainer for Klamath Union's football team). My parents and Nic and Alli went with us though. It was beautiful weather!
The kids got wrist bands and got their money's worth for sure! Taytum and Bentley stuck to the slower, safer rides, and we rode the carousel about ten times.
Carter and Andi on the other hand preferred something faster and scarier. If they were tall enough to ride on it, they went on it.
All the kids rode and loved the pony rides. It maybe wasn't quite so thrilling because Grandma and Grandpa have horses that the kids got to ride this summer, but still fun.
What's a fair without some delicious fair food dinner? Luckily Wubba's had a booth there, so we enjoyed pulled pork sandwiches! So yummy!!!
After rides, ponies, pig races, and dinner, we headed to the rodeo. Andi was particularly intrigued with the rodeo princesses.
After the rodeo the kids insisted on some more rides, and then finally we headed out of the fair with cotton candy and dough boys in hand and landed home after 11:00pm. It was a successful fair run.

School Time

I honestly cannot believe that my kiddos are back in school again. The summer flew by faster than I knew possible. We had so much fun and filled every day, but still had so many more things we wanted to see and do!!! I guess we'll have to wait until next summer. My kids were really excited to head back to school and see who would be in their classes and go school shopping. They both got the teachers they wanted. Andi is headed into first grade with Mrs. Chamberland.

And Carter is headed into second grade with Mrs. Leary and Mrs. Fay.

We were so thrilled to find out that one of Carter's best friends, Carson, was in the same class...
And then seated at the same group as him with their buddy Dominic. I'd say that was a great way to start the year!
 Andi and Tekoah.

Taytum started a few days after the big kids.

Taytum's teacher, Miss Shalynn. We love her. Really, really love her.
And Tay with a couple of her girlfriends; Miranda and Malaya.
I have already jumped into volunteering and can I just say that I LOVE volunteering in my children's classes for so many reasons. I love seeing them in their own environment. I love that they love having me in there. I love seeing that they really are as kind and smart and wonderful as I think they are. I love seeing that they aren't as bad at spelling as I think (well, they are, but not any worse than any other student their age), or that their handwriting isn't as bad as I think it is. I love hearing how great they are from their teachers every time I go in. I love that I get to be a stay-at-home-mom and am able to go in to volunteer and be present.

So grateful that my children are blessed with two present parents (most of the time). :)
