Splish Splash

Valentine's Day a little late

We were in Twin Falls for Jefferson's grandpa's funeral over Valentine's Day weekend, so we kind of missed celebrating on the actual day. Good thing kids didn't know, so we just celebrated the Monday after. Cupid visited the kids and left them goodies...
During nap time I set up a little game for the kids. Both Carter an Andi got a little heart shaped game card:
Then I hid red hershey kisses for Carter and pink ones for Andi. They had to find them and place them on their hearts until all of their circles were filled.

This was definitely a hit and may have to become a tradition. Of course, eating them afterwards was the best part.

Happy belated Valentine's day! I sure have a lot to love!

GB

Jefferson's Grandpa Gerald (lovingly known as GB. Above with Taytum and Kaleeya) passed away a few weeks ago. We headed down to Twin Falls for the memorial. The night before we headed down we had some friends over for dinner. The Schroeder's were in town from Twin Falls with their three kids, and the Swensen's headed down from Emmett. We had a great time and our kids played so well together. It was a fun evening.
The memorial was really nice. I got to sing with all the grand daughters. It was amazing how much family GB has and fun to see how many rows we filled up. At dinner following the memorial:
They let Jefferson's cousin Trevor come home a week early from his mission to attend the funeral. It was so fun to see him! He and Jefferson have a great relationship and it was a fun reunion for the two of them.

This little Tay had her six month check up last week. She is holding true to the Harmon form... 15 lbs 2 oz = 22% & 28 inches long = 97%

Andi is growing up so fast. I never thought she would be one of those girls that requested dresses or skirts every day, but she does! Every day it's a skirt or dress. It cracks me up.
Up until about a week ago she would always say, "I like you," instead of, "I love you." I'm not sure where she got that from, because, I promise, we always say, "I love you." She has since changed and has the "love" part down. But we sure do like her and love her a lot!
My bag man. Carter LOVES carrying bags and backpacks around and will stuff whatever he can into them... papers, clothes, books, stuffed animals, sippy cups, you name it. He pretends he's going to school or to work. His latest is that he builds a time machine on our stairs and he and Andi take off to who knows where.

More Funnies

Taytum was crying in her high chair this morning and Carter says, "Mom, Taytum is having a rough morning." It was just a funny thing coming from a three year old.

Carter stayed dry last night (I think that's about ten nights in a row!!) and when he got up this morning he said, "I'm dry! I am rocking this."

AND

A couple nights ago Andi got the toothpaste out to brush their teeth and Carter started whining that he wanted to get the toothpaste out and Andi turns to him and says, "Too bad." I don't know why, but it really made me laugh.

Andi came up to me earlier today exclaiming that her flashlight was broken. Carter then said, "We should call Jesus. He could come and fix it."
I love his simple faith. And for Carter, He probably would. :)

'P' is for Party

And for sugar overload! This year Valentine's day came early. It started out with a party at a friend's house. She was brave enough to take the kids parentless so I got a little over an hour at the library all by myself (with a sleeping Tay, but she doesn't count). The kids danced, made Valentine's for each other, decorated sugar cookies and cupcakes....
Right when we got home from the first party the kids got a package in the mail from Gramzee and Grandpa Paul. It was full of all sorts of goodies. They were super excited!
My parents got the kids one of those Halmark books that records the readers voice reading the story. So it's my mom and dad reading every page. They are awesome!! My kids LOVED this book! Carter listened/read it about a hundred times. When we first opened it and heard my mom and dad talking the kids got such a priceless look on their face. You could tell they were trying to piece together that they recognized the voices reading, but there were no faces, and it was a book reading to them. They quickly shouted, "That's Gramzee! That's Grandpa Paul!" And then Andi proceeded to tell me the rest of the afternoon that she wanted to go to their house. The book is great Mom and Dad, but nothing will substitute for the real thing apparently. :)
Even Tay got a bag of Valentine's goodies. This crown was included... We're starting them early.
Included in our box of goodies were matching rain coats for Andi and Taytum hand sewn by my mom. Hello?! Isn't this the cutest thing you have ever seen?! (fyi... Andi does have a jean skirt on underneath).
And if that wasn't enough, today was also Carter's preschool. The letter of the day was 'P,' so naturally it was 'P' is for PARTY! The first hour was kind of normal preschool with just the kids, but for the last half hour we really partied and got together with all the moms and younger siblings. Andi was beyond excited to get to go to preschool, and Carter was more than willing to share. By the way, Carter put his arm around Andi without any prompting. Yup, best friends.
The kids played games...
Exchanged Valentine's.
And frosted more sugar cookies...
Then we walked home...

Oh wait, and lest you thought we were done with our celebrating, some of our favorite friends, Mandy and her son Zach, stopped by dropping us off more good Valentine's treats.

It was a sweet day. :)

Stewart/Jensen Gene

A couple of times over the last week Carter and I have got the giggles bad over nothing. We have laughed so hard we had tears streaming down our face and couldn't talk. I used to have these uncontrollable fits of giggles growing up. Nothing would spark them, I would just start laughing for no apparent reason and couldn't control them. It appears that this Stewart/Jensen gene has been passed on to Carter. I love to laugh!

Done and done.

Andi is completely potty trained. Day and night. Underwear 100% of the time. No accidents for a couple of weeks. Completely dry at night. #1 and #2 in the potty. Yup- she is amazing!!!
