'P' is for Party

And for sugar overload! This year Valentine's day came early. It started out with a party at a friend's house. She was brave enough to take the kids parentless so I got a little over an hour at the library all by myself (with a sleeping Tay, but she doesn't count). The kids danced, made Valentine's for each other, decorated sugar cookies and cupcakes....
Right when we got home from the first party the kids got a package in the mail from Gramzee and Grandpa Paul. It was full of all sorts of goodies. They were super excited!
My parents got the kids one of those Halmark books that records the readers voice reading the story. So it's my mom and dad reading every page. They are awesome!! My kids LOVED this book! Carter listened/read it about a hundred times. When we first opened it and heard my mom and dad talking the kids got such a priceless look on their face. You could tell they were trying to piece together that they recognized the voices reading, but there were no faces, and it was a book reading to them. They quickly shouted, "That's Gramzee! That's Grandpa Paul!" And then Andi proceeded to tell me the rest of the afternoon that she wanted to go to their house. The book is great Mom and Dad, but nothing will substitute for the real thing apparently. :)
Even Tay got a bag of Valentine's goodies. This crown was included... We're starting them early.
Included in our box of goodies were matching rain coats for Andi and Taytum hand sewn by my mom. Hello?! Isn't this the cutest thing you have ever seen?! (fyi... Andi does have a jean skirt on underneath).
And if that wasn't enough, today was also Carter's preschool. The letter of the day was 'P,' so naturally it was 'P' is for PARTY! The first hour was kind of normal preschool with just the kids, but for the last half hour we really partied and got together with all the moms and younger siblings. Andi was beyond excited to get to go to preschool, and Carter was more than willing to share. By the way, Carter put his arm around Andi without any prompting. Yup, best friends.
The kids played games...
Exchanged Valentine's.
And frosted more sugar cookies...
Then we walked home...

Oh wait, and lest you thought we were done with our celebrating, some of our favorite friends, Mandy and her son Zach, stopped by dropping us off more good Valentine's treats.

It was a sweet day. :)

What fun v-day activities! I love how sassy Andi looks posing in her coat - she looks like a little model! Tay is changing way too much - I miss all of you and can't wait to see you soon! Loves!
