The middle: Girls'/Kids' Week

After the blessing in Salem on Sunday we all headed down to Klamath Falls; the girls and the kids that is. And inevitably when you have a "girls' week" with kids tagging along, it kind of turns into a "kids' week" in a very fun and delightful way.My mom was very prepared to have us all there. She had a lot of really fun activities ready for us and the kids to do. Each activity could have been a blog post in and of itself. It started off with private swimming lessons everyday from a gal in my mom's ward who teaches at the local public pool. Carter and Andi loved it! All the kids did great really. My kids aren't very timid in water so they were pretty willing to try everything. It was a great little beginning class. We spent a lot of time in the pool every day. Andi got her nails painted by Gramzee. She was so excited. Andi LOVES her Grandma. I think if given the choice that she would choose to permanently reside with her Grandma if I let her. I won't let her. :)
One day we spent the morning riding the trolley through downtown. The kids thought they were pretty special not having to sit in a car seat or wear seatbelts.
After the trolley ride was over we headed down to the park to feed the ducks. It was mostly just geese, but they were being friendly enough and I think they got their fill off the five or so loaves of bread we had... the kids got their fill too.
My parents have an industrial sized snowcone machine so we were treated to snowcones pool side. They were divine. No pictures, I was too busy enjoying mine. :) We went out to eat a few times, but mostly just enjoyed delicious home cooked meals.
The girls spent nap times and evenings swimming, lounging poolside, playing games, eating treats, popping popcorn, painting nails, watching SYTYCD, chatting, and roasting mallows at the fire pit.
On Thursday of Girls' Week, my two brothers and one of my two brother-in-laws headed to Boise to have what we girls entitled "Bromance." They played for two days together... we're not sure doing what, and we're not sure we want to know. We know their was Wii playing and perhaps a little DI shopping... keep reading to see what treasures they found there. They only wished my dad and Nic could have made it. Next year.
Finally on Saturday the boys arrived. We loved seeing them and hanging out for a few minutes, but then the ladies were off to shop and go out to lunch.
That night my parents rented out a candy shop down on Main Street. It was so much fun!! They had the back room set up for us with bags of cotton candy and popcorn set out for each of us. There were goody bags set out for all the kids. Endless fresh squeezed lemonade. And if that wasn't enough, we then got to go up and eat as much ice cream as we wanted. I think we all restrained ourselves and limited it to one cup/cone/shake each. After which, the kids got to go pick out about $50 worth of candy. That's a lot of candy!! I think we were all in heaven. Just yesterday Andi asked if we could go to a candy shop.
Alli feeding Tay some cotton candy. She may be her favorite aunt now. :)

It was also Nikki's birthday so we had a nice "grown-up" dinner after the kids were in bed followed by chocolate cake. Then the boys had a little surprise for us. They showed up on the porch, ringing the doorbell at 9 at night in these little ensembles.... and I mean little.Unfortunately, these outfits showed up throughout the remainder of the trip at random times.

Oh....those 'little' outfits were hilarious, awkward, and frightening all rolled into one!
