Sisters, sisters...

These two are finally starting to play well together. I'm not sure if Andi just resigned herself to the fact that Taytum will be her only playmate available while Carter is at school or if it's the fact that Taytum can finally kind of engage correctly in their play, but whatever it is, these are two are getting along rather well these days. (knock on wood) Andi has been sharing her "lips" with Taytum and even gave her two of them to keep. Andi kept reassuring Tay that she "doesn't have to give them back." They also play dress up together and enjoy singing and dancing together. Just last night I went in to give Andi her blanket after they were already in bed and as I opened the door Andi was just standing by Taytum's crib singing to her while Taytum just laid there looking at her. It was darling. I hope this is the beginning of a wonderful life long relationship. I can't wait for Bentley to join the fun!

As promised...

Miss Bentley. I love this girl. A lot. She had a bit of a rough week last week, but seems to have evened back out. She smiles so easily and has been giggling for a few weeks now. It is adorable. She drools a lot and loves sucking on her fists. I know I say this every time I write about her, but she is very attentive, like she just wants to be part of whatever is going on. She likes "talking," likes her binky, loves being swaddled, and does not love being held when she goes to sleep. She'll fall asleep in your arms, but truly does better just being swaddled and put into her bassinet. She's a pretty good baby.

Summer soccer

Andi just started a little summer soccer camp today. One of my friends in our ward is assistant coaching it and so she invited us to join. The girls are called the "Pink Princesses" and got a little pink shirt with their names on it. I was super excited for Andi to join for a couple of reasons. A. She has kind of always been the lone girl no matter where we have lived, so it is fun for her to do some activities with girls around her age. And B. she is so super uncoordinated (especially compared to Carter) that I thought that this would be a good opportunity for her to gain some coordination. Imagine my surprise when she actually rocked it out there on the field today! She was a pro dribbler like she'd been doing this forever. I was impressed. Go Andi! It was a fun first day and we're excited for a few more weeks of it.

Memorial Day Weekend

We had such a busy, full, fun weekend! It started Friday night when the boys were supposed to go on the father/son camp out. Well, it was very cold and rainy all day Friday and Jefferson was thinking about opting out of camping due to weather + my brother and his little family were coming into town Friday night, so he decided not to go (we aren't really campers, truth be told). I had already planned a girls' night at my house, so Jefferson and Carter headed out on a father/son date night while the ladies headed to our place.

Carter and Jefferson went out to dinner and then to Wahooz to play at the arcade. I guess Carter won a TON of tickets so he came home with all sorts of high quality arcade prizes. It was really sweet, he brought both Andi and Taytum home a little bracelet that he picked out for them. After the arcade Jefferson and Carter went out to ice cream. I think he had an awesome time, and I might even venture to say that it was more fun than camping would have been. I am sure Jefferson would think so.

Well, while they were out, a bunch of my friends and their daughters came over where we enjoyed tons of snacks while the younger girls watched Enchanted and played Just Dance on the Wii...
And we chatted and etched our names into the bottom of our casserole dishes. They turned out great and I am currently looking for other things to etch. Any suggestions? It was fun.
While we were having ladies night, my brother and his fam made it into town. Nikki and Jay joined the party and Jefferson and Sam headed back out to avoid the estrogen fest. Then they spent the weekend playing at our house.

We headed out for donuts on Saturday morning- yum, yum. Then we mostly just relaxed and hung out all weekend. Sam and Jefferson went to the shooting range on Saturday. After they got back Nikki and I headed to Hobby Lobby. She is having a girl in October so we had to do some baby girl crafts while she was here. Baby bow headbands and binky clips:
Sam helped Carter make some lego houses. I'm not sure who had more fun. :)
Tay and Jay played really well together. My favorite was when they were playing peek-a-boo in our toy closet. Jay got some good laughs over Taytum.
At one point we heard Taytum whining/crying in the piano room and we finally went to see what was going on, only to find Taytum stuck like this:
We laughed so hard. She was happy to be up right again.
Jay also provided us with some really good laughs with his first experience on a trampoline.
Today we went to the Field of Honor. Eagle city placed 600 flags to honor our service men and women. It was really beautiful and neat to talk to our kids a little bit about why we celebrate Memorial Day.We had a fun weekend with the Stewart clan and were sad to see them go. Luckily our Klamath staycation is in just a short month. This evening for family night we headed to the theater to see Kung Fu Panda 2 where we feasted on a dinner of licorice and theater popcorn. We had a great time. And for your viewing pleasure, Miss Bentley. She is need of a post of her own, but until then...

Preschool Graduation Day

Today was Carter's preschool graduation. I am so proud of this sweet, kind natured boy of mine. He is such an attentive, obedient, do-gooder. He did so awesome this year in preschool. We received a binder at the beginning of the year that we put all of his school work in and it was fun to see how much he progressed throughout the year. His writing and coloring skills improved so much. He is doing a great job at learning how to sound out words and begin reading. He is also great with numbers; counting, adding, and subtracting. Miss Janet commented that he is always very concerned and aware about what is right and wrong and would often remind some of the naughtier boys in class about what was right.
Their little program was just too cute today. They sang a bunch of songs and recited the pledge of allegiance. My favorite song was probably "God Bless America." One of the moms, Savanna's from a few posts down, asked if I was Carter's mom. She then proceeded to tell me that Savanna and her best friend Madison, who is also in their class, would always talk about who got to sit next to Carter in school that day, or who Carter played with. I think we may be in trouble! Way to go Carter-Mac! We are so proud of you!

Birthday Bunny

When I woke Andi up this morning she informed me that it was Bunny's birthday. I asked if he wanted a carrot and she said he doesn't like carrots because he's an Easter bunny, but that he likes cake. She wanted to throw a birthday party for him, so we did! We went to the store and let Andi pick out cupcakes for Bunny. Then after naps we blew up balloons, sang happy birthday, and ate cupcakes. I hope Bunny had a great birthday!
