Beckett's Buddy

To say Taytum loves Beckett is a major understatement. This girl is absolutely infatuated with him. She must know where he is at, she is constantly kissing and hugging him, giving him his binky, laying her head against his, just staring at him, or making declarations of love for her "little sweetheart." She is always very concerned when he cries and will come and tell me, "Mom, baby Beckett is so starving again!" Another favorite thing she says about him is, "He's such a cute little man." She is a wonderful helper and is always happy to get a burp cloth, diaper, binky, or blanket for little B boy. It's a pretty sweet little bond.

Besties

Two of my bestest girl friends ever came and paid us a visit at the beginning of October. They both brought their girls that were Taytum and Andi's age, so they were excited to see their little friends too. We had a great time and it made me miss Meridian.
We frosted Halloween sugar cookies...

 We had a movie night...

We did some other little crafties...

Went to Andi and Carter's soccer games. Played at the park. Went on a walk. And spent an evening at the fire pit roasting marshmallows...
Jefferson and I managed to take a picture, but we didn't get any of me with Celeste and Michelle! I guess that means they'll have to come again and visit.

My dad, Jefferson and Nic joined us at the fire pit after finishing resealing the driveway.
I really do have such amazing friends, and it was so fun to have a taste of "home." Love you gals!! (and your cute little girls)

Bath time

Bath time is not quite Beckett's favorite time, but he tolerates.

 The comb over...

GramMitchy came to town

Just a few weeks after Beckett was born, Grandma Mitchy came for a visit. We had such a great time with her. She was great at watching kids while I ran them to school, or she would run them while I tended to the other kids and fed Mr Beckett. She fed us, cleaned up after us, and spoiled us but good. I am so glad she got a chance to come meet Beckett, see the rest of the kiddos, and see Jefferson's new office. We can't wait to see her at the beginning of November!

The first month

My last baby is one month old. I am so absolutely in love with him. He is such a yummy little guy and has been pretty good. He's starting to be awake more and consequently cry a little more, but he really is good. He has some good nights and some not so good nights. Jefferson and he have done some early morning bonding over Sports Center more than once. He does not love bath time, or getting his diaper changed, or getting dressed. He does love being held. :)
Watching foosball with daddy:

 Sunbathing:
 Just being yummy:

 A little Gramzee love:

 A little sibling love:
I LOVE watching my kids interact with Beckett and watch how he fits into our family. They all just adore him and want to make sure he's okay. Bentley always walks up to him and says, "I all'em" (I hold him). It's sweet.

We lovingly call him "Wolf man" because of the ridiculous amounts of hair all over him:
Check out the fuzzy back.
Other than wolf man, I call him Mr. B, B-man, or Mr. Man. I really, really like him. Happy one month!

hospital stay.

Showing off his little bit of hair...

Bentley would cry every time you made her stop "holding" Beckett...
Taytum asked to hold Beckett about every other minute and the second she had him she would say, "Take a picture!"

This is the onsie my sister made him. It makes me laugh!
 Getting ready to go home...

Thank you Sky Lakes for a wonderful hospital stay! :)

Back to school

We’re back to school. The kids love school, love their teachers, love all their new friends, love eating lunch at school, and love recess. They are both in all day school and it pretty much killed me to send them both all day! I am so glad they are both doing so well and enjoy it so much, otherwise it would have been a hard transition on all of us.
Carter was a little bit anxious his first day of school. It was a new school with all new people, and he’s just a little more timid and sensitive anyways. He put on a brave face all morning and I tried to do the same. On the way to school Carter told me that he was a little bit scared the night before but that he wasn’t scared anymore. I got to walk him into his classroom and he was excited to see that a boy from church was in class. That was really helpful to have at least one familiar face. His teacher seems really nice and made Carter feel even more at ease. He was all smiles when I picked him up from school and was excited to help Andi out the next day on her first day.

Andi was beyond excited to start school. She was even more excited that she gets to stay all day and have lunch there. She came in to my bathroom at about 6:30am while I was getting ready and said, “I got up early so that I can get ready.” She just makes me laugh. She was all smiles as we made our way to her class and met her teacher. I went to a table with her that they had coloring set up for the kindergartners until everyone was there and after about a minute she said (in a very sweet and loving voice),  “Mom… can you leave now?” I tried really hard not to cry. There was no looking back from that point on.

When I was taking Andi for her first day of school (Carter’s second day), Carter’s teacher stopped me in the hall to tell me what an excellent student and good boy Carter is. She said he was so good at listening and kept his eyes on her all class. She is pretty glad to have Carter in there. Andi’s teacher has also stopped me multiple times during pick-up after school to tell me what a sweet, wonderful girl I have. She tells me often how glad she is to have Andi in her class.

Last week was back to school night and I have to admit, I love going into my kids’ classes and hearing how wonderful they are. I hope that remains the case for the next 12 years. Carter’s teacher went on about what a good student Carter is and what a good reader he is. He’s reading a grade level ahead and gets advanced books sent home with him. And Mrs. Johnson can't say enough good things about Andi. It was a delightful night.
